Blue opalized petrified wood is an exceptionally rare fossil where opaline silica replaces ancient organic wood structures, leaving a brilliant blue hue. This stunning gemstone forms over millions of years when volcanic ash and mineral-rich waters interact with buried organic matter. These colorful cabachons come from my friend in Indonesia.
